The Space

This vibrant 1,050 sq. ft. space isn't your average salon. Located in the heart of Vadodara, a dream blooms – Knotty Heads. Designed for two inspiring mothers, Disha and Eshani, it caters specifically to the needs of moms and their little ones.

Disha and Eshani gave briefs to principal architect Deepika Khatri @dotknot_studio, a haven that prioritized both playful fun and child safety. Safety reigns supreme, with rounded corners and kid-friendly furniture creating a worry-free environment. Cost-consciousness played a clever role, a calming "ballet of blues and peaches" graces the walls, allowing pops of color to emerge through vibrant terrazzo tiles and a whimsical masterpiece adorning a signature wall. This showstopper – a creation by a local Vadodara artist – celebrates childhood in a way that perfectly complements the space.

The playful spirit continues with a dedicated play area featuring a sprawling chalkboard and whimsical arches – a signature design element that weaves throughout the space, sparking the imagination of young and old alike. Tucked away, a curated selection of children's clothing offers seamless shopping for parents, eliminating post-haircut errands. Knotty Heads exemplifies the transformative power of design. Through thoughtful planning and creative use of materials, this project creates a vibrant and functional space that caters to the needs of both parents and children, all within budgetary constraints. It's a testament to the power of collaboration and a design that goes beyond aesthetics, creating a space where families can truly unwind.
